While not for everyone, eloping has several advantages over the traditional full-blown weddings. One of the most common reasons why many couples choose to elope is the cost – eloping costs less than a formal wedding, when you factor in the budget for the reception, favors, catering, etc. Plus, there’s less stress involved and most of all, it’s more romantic.
If you are planning on eloping, you might want to check out the following eloping ideas.
Luxury Resort
Checking in at a luxury resort is a good idea. There are lots of resort hotels that are open to setting up a small wedding, even on short notice. If you want to find eloping destinations in the Caribbean, Jade Mountain would be a great idea as it offers a complimentary wedding with a five night stay.
Exotic Location
Eloping in an exotic location is very romantic, not to mention adventurous. A tropical island makes for an exotic eloping destination, but if you are not keen on going too far from the country, Lake Tahoe is the ideal place for you.
Romantic B&B
A couple of romantic nights at a bed and breakfast is also a popular choice among eloping sweethearts. Many bed and breakfast inns all over the country offer affordable elopement packages. Also, some innkeepers are legally allowed to perform marriages so there’s no need to look for wedding officiant around the area.

We live in Ohio and are planning to get married in Jan. or Feb… We need a place that we can get married at and then enjoy a little. Either a place in Ohio that is nice in the winter… or a place that is warm and sunny but not too expensive to get to or stay at for a few days because we are on a budget…
We are looking for something very beautiful and romantic but secluded. Anyone from or familiar with the city know of such a spot? It could be outside the city just a ways too.

My fiance and I have recently decided to forget about a huge ceremony right now, and to go away in March. We are from Springfield, MO. But, I read that there is a waiting period in Missouri, and you need to apply for a liscense a month in advance. So, we were planning on going to Eureka Springs, Arkansas to get married. Can we just get in the car and go, or what do we need to do first?
