Any ideas for a nice place to elope that is not too expensive?

April 23rd, 2010 by admin | 1 Comment | Filed in Elope

We live in Ohio and are planning to get married in Jan. or Feb… We need a place that we can get married at and then enjoy a little. Either a place in Ohio that is nice in the winter… or a place that is warm and sunny but not too expensive to get to or stay at for a few days because we are on a budget…
Any suggestions will be appreciated… Thanks!

Cheap Wedding Ideas

March 26th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Elope

Well, the big day was coming up…and so much sooner than I expected.

Even though my fiance and I had planned in January a classic June wedding, giving me lots of time to plan the one great moment of the beginning of our life together, come February, we decided we really wanted to have an April wedding instead…(to take advantage of the romantic mood of spring on our honeymoon in the Catskills!).

And I thought, no problem…that’s still enough time to plan a beautiful, albeit, cheap wedding.

WRONG! If you’re planning a wedding of any amount of grandiose, give yourself more than 2 months!

But hey, I love a challenge. So I immediately set to work to create what I hoped to be a wedding that would be the talk of the town for years to come.

By only the third day, my heart had sunk into an all time low. As I began to add up the real world price tags of the many things that go into even a cheap wedding, an elopement seemed inevitable.

But I didn’t want to elope! This day would never come again…and I wanted to have it in the same way I had seen it in my dreams. But even the cost of cheap wedding flowers would make your eyes roll up in your head!

I lost one week from simply sulking. But at the end of that awful week is when I found www.amazingweddingplanning.com.

I couldn’t believe the cheap wedding ideas she had. And she covered EVERYTHING, like:

cheap invitations

wedding dresses for $100

cheap wedding favors

wedding photography

wedding cake

wedding flowers

cheap centerpieces…etc., etc.

I easily and quickly downloaded “Amazing Wedding Planning” and it changed everything for me. It had everything that I needed to make my wedding beautiful and under $10,000!

I had to pay $39.95. But it was well worth it. I saved at least $1000 on my wedding dress alone!

It also had a Wedding Management kind of software which in itself was worth the price of the download. And the software was super easy to manage.

With “Amazing Wedding Planning” help I not only saved thousands of dollars, I was able to create a wedding that was perfectly exquisite.

People that attended still rave about it and want to know just how I could afford such a grand wedding. Some even thought I had spent $50,000!

And the real cost? Around $2,900. Yes, $2,900. Which, by the way, by saving all the bucks, allowed for the Catskill honeymoon to be a memory that still makes me go weak all over…and we stayed 3 weeks instead of 2!

But I couldn’t have done it without the unequaled help of “Amazing Wedding Planning”. It truly is amazing.

So if your big wedding day is approaching, and you need the same kind of help I needed…how to make a cheap wedding, but make it look like a million dollars… then stop your sulking, don’t waste another day…just buy the download. It will be the best 40 bucks you’ve ever spent.

www.amazingweddingplanning.com

And my most heart felt congratulations on the approaching day!

Destination Wedding Invitations – Ideas & Tips For Success

March 22nd, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Destination Wedding

Trying to figure out how to get your designer wedding gown halfway across the world? Do you need a college degree to slog through the marriage laws of that quaint island nation? There’s no question that it can be challenging to plan a destination wedding. This guide will make the process a little easier by providing unique ideas for destination wedding invitations as well as tips for creating the perfect invite.

*Whether you’re headed to an exotic beach locale or a romantic European city, destination wedding invitations can create a celebratory tone for your guests. Headed to Venice? Use an image of a gondola or Piazza San Marco to get your guests in the mood for the romance of the city–and your ceremony. Online wedding specialists also offer destination-themed stationery designed to look like American passports. Imagine how excited and honored family and friends will be to receive one of these special and unique invitations.

*There’s nothing quite like a themed destination wedding. Is the happiest day of your life going to be at the happiest place on earth–Disney? Send invites in the shape of Mickey’s iconic head or envelopes printed with your favorite characters. Maybe you’re marrying your knight in shining armor at a renaissance event? Consider an invitation rolled up like a royal scoll. Wherever you’re headed for the ceremony, the most important part of theme destination wedding invitations is to let guests know how much fun they’re going to have. Theme wedding invites are easy to find through online wedding stationery printers.

*If guests will be digging their toes in the sand, you’ll want destination-inspired invites that convey the special feel of lakeside or oceanside nuptials. Is a casual ceremony your style? Think about using playful dolphin images or colorful sandal motifs. Online wedding stationery specialists even offer invites shaped like beach umbrellas. Invitation images or designs for more formal beachside nuptials might include gentle sunsets or ocean vistas.

*The sky’s the limit when it comes to destination wedding invitations for Las Vegas nuptials. Elvis silhouettes. Slot machines. Roulette wheels. Since “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” let your imagination play when selecting wedding invitation ideas. Don’t let that imagination run too wild though. Try to avoid off-color or suggestive Sin City invites–while it might seem like a fun and funny idea now, you might not want your elderly grandma to get her hands on one.

Once you’ve chosen which wedding invitation ideas you’ll use, remember these two simple tips:

Tip #1: Planning a destination wedding can be complex, so look for wedding invitation ideas from an online stationery specialist who offers a range of selections, making it easy for you to choose and click your way to the perfect invite.

Tip #2: Even elementary school spelling champs can be stumped by foreign city names and locales. Triple-check unfamiliar spellings so you don’t end up inviting guests to Pizza, Italy instead of Pisa, Italy.

Here your favorite wedding photography firm from Toronto offers you ideas that are unique, lovely and memorable. The key to remember is that this is you and your groom’s big day and the options of the ceremony and reception in a destination wedding are limitless. Make it more non-traditional with a beach wedding with a reception of a beach party, clam bake or luau afterwards with Elvis or favorite beach tunes playing in the background for all to party too. More quirky wedding ideas include saying your vows while dangling from a bungee cord or jumping out of a plane in the blue skies above. Why not have a themed destination wedding somewhere you both love to visit and hold it as a time capsule where every aspect even dress is in a certain era you most feel drawn too, these make fun and great wedding photography captures.

You could have a nature inspired destination wedding in a lovely natural setting as you wear a flowing dress and come down the aisle barefoot with a ring of fragrant wildflowers throughout your hair. During the recreation you could solidify your vows by the planting of a wild plant or tree on the area for your part in giving back to nature itself. These make for unforgettable photos taken by a expert in wedding photography.

If you are watching your budget why not choose a casual style wedding in a friends backyard or family members and celebrate afterwards with a huge backyard party and barbecue for everyone to enjoy. Your wedding photography artist should be able to photo a lot of special moments with you as a couple and with friends and family too.

A perfect city for destination weddings and the most beautiful in wedding photography in Mississauga, a city that’s all about beauty and weddings, which are their specialty, would be a perfect addition to your special day.

Here are lists of the favorite wedding destinations that are affordable courtesy of your wedding photography studio. There are the warmer climates that include beach and ocean destinations like Jamaica, Florida, Mexico, Bahamas, Las Vegas and California. For the cooler temperatures and mountains you could go to the Poconos, Canada or Colorado.

If your budget is higher and you think that money is not important but having the dream wedding destination is then these are choice you should think about. These are mostly all warm weather destinations such as Aruba, Hawaii, St. Lucia, Bermuda, Australia, Tahiti, U.S Virgin Islands but could also include, Paris and Italy. Wedding photography in any of these locations would be so beautiful and well worth the trip and money spent for a most magical and memorable time of your lives.

Wedding Solutions’ Top Ideas to Go Green With Your Wedding

March 20th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Wedding Travel

Wedding Solutions’ Top Ideas to Go Green with Your Wedding

The eco-chic wedding has grown in popularity over the past few years. Couples are looking to protect the environment by choosing organic and recyclable options, as well as offsetting the impact guests’ travel will have on the earth.

Whereas weddings often mean “the more extravagant the better,” having a green wedding can make a statement to your guests about the importance of protecting the earth from wear and tear.

The easiest way to keep emissions and effects on the environment low is to have a small wedding – 20 guests instead of 200. Obviously, this isn’t always possible. The goal is to have a beautiful wedding that is as least wasteful as it can be.

Many facilities are now catering to eco-chic weddings. However, be aware that a green wedding can cost up to 20 percent more than a traditional wedding.  For instance, having an organic menu can raise costs by 10 percent. But if the environment is your main priority, there are plenty of great ways to plan a beautiful green wedding and keep the environmental impact low.

Here are Wedding Solution’s favorite tips for a green wedding:

Invitations: Use organic or soy ink on recycled paper
Choose paper not made from trees. Paper alternatives include bamboo, hemp, banana stalks, and even cotton.

c.       Save paper by skipping the multi-envelope invitations and using a postcard for your Save the Date

d.       Use online invitations or create a wedding website to give guests details of events such as the bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinner, and bridal shower

Location:Have your wedding and reception in the same place to avoid wasting energy and natural resources on transportation
Have the wedding outside, instead of in an energy-inefficient reception hall. If you have an outdoor wedding, you can utilize the natural beauty of the site to have fewer wasteful decorations
You can also locate an LEED-certified space to have an indoor wedding. LEED stands for “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design” and means the space is sustainable and conserves water, energy, and electricity using solar power, insulation panels, and other state-of-the-art technology. Visit the U.S. Green Building Council’s website to search a list of LEED-certified locations by city or state — www.usgbc.org

Flowers:Use potted plants — then have your guests take them home as favors and reuse them. Or have them donated to a local hospice or elderly care center.
If you do want flowers, get organically grown flowers – meaning they are grown without pesticides or insecticides. Consider organic roses, which are a beautiful option and have an amazing – and real – fragrance. Non-organic roses are actually sprayed with perfume. Have your guests toss the organic rose petals as you walk down the aisle. (Be aware that organic flowers won’t last as long, however, so make sure your florist considers timing.)
Get flowers from a local nursery to avoid using up natural resources during shipping.

On the table:Choose an organic menu, with seasonal or locally grown products (to avoid shipping costs). You will be hard-pressed to find an all-organic caterer, so simply instruct your caterer to shop at local farmer’s markets and choose fresh, season ingredients, such as heirloom tomatoes and fresh herbs in the summer. Be aware that with a seasonal menu, you should find a caterer you really trust, because it’s not likely you’ll be able to taste the menu ahead of time.
Donate any extra food to a homeless shelter!
Choose organic wine or beer selections. Make sure they are registered with the USDA National Organic Program
Use recycled napkins and table linens
Use natural products for placecards – one couple used a pressed tree leaf with each guest’s name on it as a placemarker. Or writing guests’ names on a smooth river with a paint pen is an eco-friendly option.
Choose beeswax or soy-based candles over those made with petroleum, a non-earth friendly product. Best of all, beeswax candles smell amazing, like honey!

g.       For the serious eco-friendly couple, request biodegradable utensils and plates – made out of potatoes, cornstarch, or sugarcane. Then have them composted after the wedding.

Gown & tux:Purchase a secondhand or vintage gown. Have it altered to look more modern and to fit your body perfectly.
Donate your gown after the ceremony

c.       The groom can wear a hemp tux

d.       Buy a dress – and have your bridesmaids buy dresses – that you will wear again or can have altered

Rings:Buy a conflict-free diamond. The Blood Diamond controversy is very hot right now – this means diamonds mined in war-torn African countries that help fund rebel armies, and finance arms purchases and other illegal activities in those countries. Be sure to ask for certified conflict-free diamonds.
Opt for a vintage piece. Or you can have an old piece of jewelry melted down and made into a new ring.

c.       A lot of eco-friendly couples are opting for wooden rings. They’re custom-made and inexpensive (a few hundred dollars). Touch Wood rings are gaining popularity … www touchwood.com

Gifts:Create a registry where guests donate to a favorite charity instead of buying you gifts. Avoid something political that guests might take issue with … stick to organizations that benefit international aid, nature, animals, disease prevention, or relief efforts. Their contributions will be tax-deductible, and you won’t end up with a bunch of crystal glassware that you use once a year.
Register for a home-delivery service that delivers organic food products
Ask for national park passes

Honeymoon:

a.       Instead of a lavish honeymoon, go on a volunteer trip! Build houses for Habitat for Humanity or help hurricane victims.

b.       Take an eco-friendly or low-impact honeymoon. Stay in a green resort, go camping.

Travel and Carbon Credits:Carbon dioxide emissions from guest travel are the single biggest environmental impact from your wedding. The energy needed for lighting, catering, DJs, etc. always plays a role. Use an online “wedding carbon footprint” calculator to determine the amount of greenhouse gases and carbon emissions that will be generated by guests flying and driving into town. Then, the couple can purchase “carbon credits” – which puts money toward U.S. carbon-reducing energy projects – to help offset the environmental damage of the wedding. One site designed specifically for wedding planning is www.terrapass.com. You might also ask your guests to contribute to carbon credits, instead of buying a wedding gift.

Bridal Shower Invitations Wording Ideas and Wedding Invitations Wording Verses and Sayings

March 10th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Elope

For all of the invitations and that are sent out for weddings, the wording is perhaps the most important. The wording for these pieces of stationery will set the tone for the event and give guests a good idea as to what to expect. The most important pieces of stationery that are sent out need the best wording and this means paying particular attention to bridal shower invitations wording, wedding announcements wording, wedding shower invitations wording, and marriage announcements wedding. Bridal shower invitations wordings, verses and sayings can be kept very fun and light, especially if the event is going to be a casual affair, such as a lingerie bridal shower.

Traditional bridal shower invitation wording could say, “Please join us for a bridal shower in honor of the bride-to-be, Elizabeth Clark,” and follow with the details of the shower. Bridal showers can also be casual. For instance, a lingerie bridal shower wording could say, ”Elizabeth is about to walk down the aisle; Let’s shower her with silk and lace that will make the groom smile.” However formal the event, the bridal shower invitations wording needs to be focusing attention on the bride and the theme of the event.

Events such as bridal showers also require thank you cards. Bridal shower thank you card wording should also keep within the theme of the event. If the shower was formal, with formal invitations and perhaps catering, the bridal shower thank you card wording should reflect that. The bride can generally write whatever she wishes on the inside of the card but the bridal shower thank you card wording that’s printed on the front of the card should say something such as, “I am filled with gratitude for your presence at my bridal shower.” For something more casual such as a lingerie bridal shower, the bridal shower thank you card wording could say, “Thanks for coming to my shower; I’m thrilled that you were there! To start my marriage off right, thanks for the underwear!”

Wedding announcements wording, elopement announcements wording, and engagement announcements wording will all be fairly alike. These announcements are simply to tell people that you have wed, or that you will be wed. Elopement announcement wording can be much like wedding announcement wording and does not necessarily need to include the fact that you have eloped. Something such as, “Ms. Elizabeth Clark and Richard Dayton were married on June 30, 2007” would be appropriate.

Rehearsal dinner invitation wording can be a little bit tricky as many of the guests may not be sure what to expect from the rehearsal dinner. For a formal ceremony, the rehearsal dinner usually means rehearsing the ceremony, with dinner to follow. This rehearsal dinner invitation wording could say, “We request your presence at the rehearsal dinner on June 29th, to rehearse the ceremony with a delicious meal to follow.” For a casual wedding there may be no actual rehearsal required so this rehearsal dinner invitation wording could say, “Let’s sit down to eat together before the stress of the big day!”

Whatever stationery you are sending out, the wording is very important. Online retailers and wedding planners can help with unique bridal shower wording ideas, wedding announcements wording verses and sayings for bridal shower invitations that will be perfect for any piece of wedding mail you are sending out.

Bridesmaid Gift Ideas for a Las Vegas Wedding

March 6th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Wedding Travel

We all know that whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but what about a Vegas wedding? Are the inner workings of a successful Vegas wedding a secret to all but those involved? If you have bridesmaids and a wedding party joining you for your special day in Vegas, you are going to need a couple tips and tricks as to how to properly thank them. This information does not have to stay in Vegas unless you want it to! Here is the inside scoop as to some of the best bridesmaid gift ideas for a Vegas wedding to help the planning go a little more smoothly.

Travel Essentials

Chances are if you are going to Vegas to get married, it is a destination wedding. If you and your bridesmaids must travel to get to Vegas, you might want to think about providing them some travel essentials for the big trip. You could pack each of them a care package that includes travel-sized luxury shampoos, conditioners, body washes, and facial treatments. You could also include some entertainment for the long flight such as a small mp3 players or books. These may be a thoughtful gift to help pass the time.

Vegas-Themed Movies

Going to Las Vegas to get married can be one of the most fun ways to get married, why not think about a Vegas-themed gift set for your bridesmaids. If you are getting married in Vegas, chances are you and your enjoy excitement and the nightlife. If your bridesmaids are movie buffs, think about giving them each a set of Vegas-themed DVDs to add to their collection. You could include films such as Viva Las Vegas, 21, Honeymoon in Vegas, Oceans 11, 12 or 13. Get together before or after the wedding and you can have a Vegas themed movie night.

Gambling Retreat

While in Vegas, you and your bridesmaids might as well take advantage of the casinos. There is a plethora of casinos offering every game you can imagine, so consider taking some time to enjoy yourselves at the casinos. You can even incorporate your bachelorette party into your Vegas wedding. As a great thank you gift to your bridesmaids, you should consider giving them some money to use at the tables. It does not have to be much, maybe $100 if you can afford it, but it is the thought that counts. Instead of handing over hard, cold cash, trade it in for chips to make it a little more appropriate. To go along with your gambling-themed night, why not include a couple “how-to” books that lay out the rules of betting, slots, and table games.

A Day at the Spa

Las Vegas is home to some of the best spas in the United States, which is why you should not miss the opportunity to visit one. In addition, this makes an excellent gift for your bridesmaids. These girls are most likely your best friends and they have probably spent quite a bit of time and money to help you plan this wedding. The travel costs alone probably make you want to splurge a little on your girlfriends. So why not make a day at the spa a special gift to your bridesmaids. You should all benefit from this and they can feel special and spoiled while you take advantage of the extra primping and relaxation leading up to your wedding.

Go See a Show

Another great gift idea for your Vegas bridesmaids is to treat them to one of the many exciting shows in the great city. Las Vegas is home to some of the most talented showgirls, the hottest performers, and some of the best shows. Often, some of the hottest pop stars are contracted for a run in Vegas, which can last a few weeks, months, or even a year. Singers such as Celine Dion, Elton John, and Tom Jones have all done lengthy runs in Vegas. Some of the most popular Broadway shows have also played in Vegas. One could say that the strip in Vegas is very similar to Broadway in New York. There is no shortage as to what you can see in Las Vegas. Talk it over with your bridesmaids and take them to a show that they can remember for the rest of their lives.

No matter what you choose to give your bridesmaids for being part of your Vegas wedding, just put some thought into it and it should be well appreciated. If you cannot afford something extravagant, like treating everyone to a show or a night at the casinos, do something on a smaller scale. The most important thing is to remember that you are there to have fun and celebrate one of the biggest moments of your life.
