Plan A Valentine’s Day In Vegas

April 11th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Elope

But even if your single and looking for a break from work, Vegas would be an excellent place to spend Valentine’s Day.  A party with your girlfriends would really take the stress away from this pressure filled holiday.  Perhaps Valentine’s Day invitations are in order.  But honestly, Vegas may be more suited for the guys.  With all the gambling and drinking, it would be hard not to have a good time.  Let’s not forget about the lush green golf courses that Vegas has to offer.  An afternoon of golf followed by an over the top Cirque du Soleil show would be the perfect addition to a vacation.  If nothing else, Vegas offers a warmer climate than almost anywhere else in the United States during the holiday of Love.  Whether a wedding is in order or just a crazy weekend is necessary, Vegas should be the first place on your list.

But if Vegas isn’t the perfect spot for your wedding it could always be your pick for your honeymoon.  The city doesn’t lack honeymoon suites and flaunting new love is what the city is all about.  But saving money and romantic spots wouldn’t be the only thing that Las Vegas would offer.  Girls might want to think about sending out their bachelorette party invitations early just to build the excitement.  The city of sin has many places to spend that last night as a bachelor or bachelorette.  Women get in free at most clubs and bars.  The service is impeccable and it’s always a great time.

With all the economic struggles people are having recently, it’s difficult for those ready for the ultimate commitment to have the wedding of their dreams.  Las Vegas would be the perfect getaway for those people without having to spend the their entire college fund.  I’m not talking about eloping in front of Elvis, but a small ceremony where friends and family can enjoy beautiful hotels and over the top entertainment.  The hotel may even pay for the party invitations.  Since Valentine’s Day is coming up, many guys are probably planning to put a ring in a champagne glass or a fancy dessert and women may want to start thinking about planning the perfect wedding.  Those of you thinking that this wouldn’t be such a great idea should consider rethinking.  Whether it’s the amazing fountain in front of the Bellagio or the elegant Eiffel Tower in front of the Paris hotel, you will always be able to find a place to express your love for each other.

Do you host a bridal shower for someone who has decided to elope to Vegas?

March 25th, 2010 by admin | 6 Comments | Filed in Elope

My friend/cousin was planning a wedding, and family members had already purchased many of the items for the ceremony and booked a location. She then decided she no longer wished to have a wedding with friends and family but to go to Las Vegas with her fiancee and get married there. Yet she still wants a shower. So as the person who was suppose to be the maid of honor am I obligated to throw her one? Or should she just suck it up and have a gathering when she and her husband come home?

Where is the best place to elope in Las Vegas?

March 22nd, 2010 by admin | 5 Comments | Filed in Elope

My boyfriend and I are deciding to get married after 6 years of being together, but neither of us want the hoopla of a wedding. We are going to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving, and are looking to quietly get married. I am looking for a nice, classy place that is not themed or cheesy in any way. We don’t want to spend more than $1,000 so the Bellagio is out. Maybe four or so people will be in attendance. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Bridesmaid Gift Ideas for a Las Vegas Wedding

March 6th, 2010 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Wedding Travel

We all know that whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but what about a Vegas wedding? Are the inner workings of a successful Vegas wedding a secret to all but those involved? If you have bridesmaids and a wedding party joining you for your special day in Vegas, you are going to need a couple tips and tricks as to how to properly thank them. This information does not have to stay in Vegas unless you want it to! Here is the inside scoop as to some of the best bridesmaid gift ideas for a Vegas wedding to help the planning go a little more smoothly.

Travel Essentials

Chances are if you are going to Vegas to get married, it is a destination wedding. If you and your bridesmaids must travel to get to Vegas, you might want to think about providing them some travel essentials for the big trip. You could pack each of them a care package that includes travel-sized luxury shampoos, conditioners, body washes, and facial treatments. You could also include some entertainment for the long flight such as a small mp3 players or books. These may be a thoughtful gift to help pass the time.

Vegas-Themed Movies

Going to Las Vegas to get married can be one of the most fun ways to get married, why not think about a Vegas-themed gift set for your bridesmaids. If you are getting married in Vegas, chances are you and your enjoy excitement and the nightlife. If your bridesmaids are movie buffs, think about giving them each a set of Vegas-themed DVDs to add to their collection. You could include films such as Viva Las Vegas, 21, Honeymoon in Vegas, Oceans 11, 12 or 13. Get together before or after the wedding and you can have a Vegas themed movie night.

Gambling Retreat

While in Vegas, you and your bridesmaids might as well take advantage of the casinos. There is a plethora of casinos offering every game you can imagine, so consider taking some time to enjoy yourselves at the casinos. You can even incorporate your bachelorette party into your Vegas wedding. As a great thank you gift to your bridesmaids, you should consider giving them some money to use at the tables. It does not have to be much, maybe $100 if you can afford it, but it is the thought that counts. Instead of handing over hard, cold cash, trade it in for chips to make it a little more appropriate. To go along with your gambling-themed night, why not include a couple “how-to” books that lay out the rules of betting, slots, and table games.

A Day at the Spa

Las Vegas is home to some of the best spas in the United States, which is why you should not miss the opportunity to visit one. In addition, this makes an excellent gift for your bridesmaids. These girls are most likely your best friends and they have probably spent quite a bit of time and money to help you plan this wedding. The travel costs alone probably make you want to splurge a little on your girlfriends. So why not make a day at the spa a special gift to your bridesmaids. You should all benefit from this and they can feel special and spoiled while you take advantage of the extra primping and relaxation leading up to your wedding.

Go See a Show

Another great gift idea for your Vegas bridesmaids is to treat them to one of the many exciting shows in the great city. Las Vegas is home to some of the most talented showgirls, the hottest performers, and some of the best shows. Often, some of the hottest pop stars are contracted for a run in Vegas, which can last a few weeks, months, or even a year. Singers such as Celine Dion, Elton John, and Tom Jones have all done lengthy runs in Vegas. Some of the most popular Broadway shows have also played in Vegas. One could say that the strip in Vegas is very similar to Broadway in New York. There is no shortage as to what you can see in Las Vegas. Talk it over with your bridesmaids and take them to a show that they can remember for the rest of their lives.

No matter what you choose to give your bridesmaids for being part of your Vegas wedding, just put some thought into it and it should be well appreciated. If you cannot afford something extravagant, like treating everyone to a show or a night at the casinos, do something on a smaller scale. The most important thing is to remember that you are there to have fun and celebrate one of the biggest moments of your life.
