The United Kingdom is made up of four different regions, also referred to as countries. These are Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales. Who Can Elope to the United Kingdom
While eloping to another country, you will expect to have a little more work to do, but eloping to the United Kingdom is one of the easier destinations that you can choose. You will need to apply for a Visa in order to get married in the UK and you need to give 28 days notice after being in residence in the country for a minimum of 7 days. Same sex marriage is legal in the United Kingdom. The full process for applying to marry in the UK can be found online, but keep in mind things could be a little different if you marry in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
