If there is one thing that Tennessee is renowned for, it has to be country music! However, it is also a great destination for elopements. Just a little bit of information you’ve missed: The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has an administrative office in Tennessee, but the park is not ‘in Tennessee’. It straddles the border of TN and North Carolina, with a little over half of the park in North Carolina. The office is in Tennessee (and we don’t mind). http://www.nps.gov/grsm/parkmgmt/statistics.htm
Thanks for the opportunity to clear up that misconception. If you’re looking for the flashing lights and Ripley’s Believe it or Not, by all means, head for Gatlinburg. It’s fun! Then come on over to Maggie Valley for the Quiet Side of the Smokies, which also has some beautiful places to elope.
