Did you know? Engagement season runs Thanksgiving through Valentine’s Day with Christmas Day, the most popular day to get engaged! That means from Valentine’s Day onward there will be lots of couples looking to book their special day.
Pick The Date
In the first 60 days after a couple gets engaged, there are three things on their mind; we call it PSS. They are going to Pick a date, then Set their budget, and Select their venue! Often choosing a date can be one of the most difficult, especially for big weddings that can require up to 18 months advance notice! However, with small weddings and elopements, this is much more flexible, and it is possible to plan your wedding in just a few weeks or days! That gives couples more freedom when it comes to choosing a wedding date. Some opt for a birthday, anniversary or vacation, while others just like having a memorable date! Some of the popular dates for 2020 are going to be:
- 3-20-20
- 5-10-20
- 6-20-20
- 8-8-20
- 10-10-20
- 11-20-20
Set The Budget
One of the key 2020 wedding trends that goes hand in hand with the rise in smaller weddings is smaller budgets! The average cost of weddings is dropping as couples choose to redirect their money towards other things such as buying property or paying down student loans! Weddings are being downsized with more destination weddings, small weddings and elopements than ever before. Couples are looking from great value small wedding and elopement packages that include everything they need with no hidden costs. If you have found a great venue – think about adding an authorized officiant, and you are well on your way to finding elopement packages that will help make your dreams come true!
Select The Venue
As noted, aside from the date and the budget, one of the biggest concerns for newly engaged couples is going to be choosing the right venue. With a growing swing towards smaller weddings and elopements, couples are looking for more intimate venues, including villages and farms, gazebos, romantic inns and resorts. They want to be able to have their wedding ceremony and reception at the same place, and one of the significant 2020 wedding trends is going to be organic and eco-friendly weddings outdoors and close to nature. Think about how your choice of venue can accommodate these needs.
Great locations for elopement ceremonies include:
- Inns
- Beaches
- Riverbanks
- Waterfalls
- Gardens
- Mountains
- Parks
