Big Wedding Time
Have you ever found yourself wishing that your day had a few extra hours in it, just so you could get your to-do list finished? Most of us make a similar wish at least once a week! These days life is pretty fast-paced and fitting in work, family and running a home can be a delicate balancing act even before you introduce wedding planning! In chapter 5 of my new book, BIG Weddings SUCK! I look at how big wedding time drain is an increasing problem for engaged couples.
Big Wedding Time Drain is Real!
I talked with Trish, one bride who found herself suffering from exhaustion as she and her husband-to-be both tried to juggle full-time jobs, look after 2 children and still spend over 10 hours a week planning a huge wedding. She would often fall asleep slumped over her laptop or notebook. Big wedding time drain was taking its toll on her health – and on her relationship. She made the decision that enjoying life was more important and canceled the big wedding and eloped instead! In a perfect sound bite, Trish told me, “I chose sleep over my dream wedding and I couldn’t be happier!”
Big Weddings Take Time to Plan
One of the main reasons why Big Weddings SUCK! is the amount of time they take to plan. It is not unusual for it to take 12 to 18 months to plan a big wedding. In fact, for some of the big venues during the height of wedding season, you may need to book even further in advance! Planning a small wedding is much easier and far less time-consuming! You can download a simple elopement planning checklist to help keep you on track!
