THINK SMALL! How to Elope During the Coronavirus Pandemic!

Elope During the Coronavirus Pandemic?

Let’s Think Small to discover How To Elope During the Coronavirus Pandemic. The current coronavirus pandemic is an unprecedented situation. In living memory, we have never encountered a situation quite like this. With multiple businesses forced into mandatory shutdowns and large social gatherings forbidden life as we know it is changing. One area in particular that has been heavily impacted is, of course, the wedding industry. However, all is not lost – it’s just time to put even more focus on small weddings and eloping!

Innkeepers Are Offers Packages for Couples Thinking of Eloping

There were an estimated 450,000 weddings scheduled between March and May across the United States, but Coronavirus has resulted in widespread cancellations or postponements. However, with a little creative thinking, it is still possible to get married during the pandemic – you just need to think small! The CDC has advised against gatherings of 50 people or more, and some states are restricting people to 10 or even smaller numbers. This means that some couples are thinking about eloping instead of having much smaller ceremonies than originally planned.

Now is the perfect time for Innkeepers to offer small weddings or elopement packages to meet the growing demand for scaled-back celebrations. In fact, there is every possibility that this Coronavirus pandemic could have a long term effect that could change the entire wedding industry. We’ve already seen a definite shift towards small weddings in the past few years for a variety of reasons, and this could be the final push that makes eloping more popular than a traditional big wedding.

Innkeepers are thinking about what they can offer couples who have had to cancel their wedding thanks to Coronavirus. Small properties are more appealing at a time when social distancing is important. Innkeepers are also offer private dining and other intimate touches that can become an even more attractive option for couples thinking of eloping.

Tips For Innkeepers During the Coronavirus Pandemic

Inns of Colorado recently shared some excellent tips for Innkeepers to help protect their guests against spreading the infection. Making potential guests aware of the precautions that Innkeepers are taking is a great way to reassure them of their safety if they decide to use a small inn or bed and breakfast as the setting for their elopement. Some of the tips shared include:

  • Small properties mean no crowds!
  • Gas prices are at an all-time low, so its a great time to take a short trip.
  • Offer private tables in dining rooms for meals safely distanced from other guests – or offer meals in their room.
  • They have gathered menus from local restaurants who offer a delivery service to guests in their room instead of having to go out.
  • Innkeepers are taking extra cleaning precautions to reassure guests that their room is as clean as possible
  • They are paying extra attention to doorknobs, blinds, faucets, phones, remotes, handrails, alarm clocks, and all surfaces.

These are just a few of the things that will help guests feel a little more confident about using your inn for small weddings during these uncertain times.
