How to Plan a Wedding in 3 Months or Less
One of the things that I continue to find truly astonishing despite the number of years I have been involved in elopements is the amount of time some couples dedicate to planning a wedding! Some of the popular venues are booked years in advance and have extensive waiting lists! It is not unusual for couples to spend 18 months or more planning every detail of a big wedding. In my eyes, that is just one more reason why BIG Weddings SUCK! Who has that kind of free time? I can show you how to plan a wedding in 3 months or less!
Packages Make it Easy to Plan a Wedding in 3 Months
In my book, BIG Weddings SUCK! I share a number of helpful hints that will guide you through how to plan a wedding in 3 months or less. However, one of the biggest pieces of advice that I can give is to choose a wedding elopement package, or even a small wedding instead. Packages are much easier to chose and therefore much of the planning has already been done for you. In some states, you could go so far as to get a same day wedding license! However, most couples do prefer a little more time to make arrangements, so I think 3 months is a good benchmark to work with!
Wedding Checklists are Your Best Friend
One of the best ways to make sure you are on track with your wedding plans is to use a wedding checklist with target dates for certain tasks. One problem I discovered was that all of the big wedding sites and magazines who offer such a checklist are basing it on that 18-month timeline for a big wedding. That’s why I decided to create my own. You can find my small wedding elopement checklist in chapter 5 of my book, BIG Weddings SUCK!
