Where are Iowa Best Places To Elope?
One of our favorite Iowa elopement venues has to be Candle Lit Way Wedding Chapel which is situated in Dallas Center. This gorgeous Victorian chapel is a romantic option for your elopement ceremony and is open to couples of any faith. One of the most beautiful features of the chapel is the rainbow of stained glass windows which create a kaleidoscope effect inside the chapel on sunny days. The Chapel dates back to 1833 and has been lovingly restored to create a stunning venue. Elopements for up to 10 guests can be catered for in the venue. Owners Dan & Mary Ellen Oberender are happy to help you source local providers for additional aspects of your wedding including the unique local specialty – live butterfly release!
If you would prefer something a little more formal and elegant then why not take a look at The Capitol Room in Des Moines. This beautiful venue boasts rich walnut woodwork and sparkling crystal chandeliers to lend your ceremony a touch of style and elegance. Just a short distance away in Norwalk you will also find The Wright Place, another stylish venue that is perfect for your ceremony.
For those interested in something a little more outdoorsy, one great venue to take into consideration is Hickory Hills Park. With a range of cabins and outdoor locations suitable for your elopement ceremony it is a great choice. You can stay onsite either in a cabin or using a tent if you would rather rough it a little. You can also pick up a hunting and/or fishing license. The park also offers hiking, cross country skiing, volleyball and many other outdoor activities making it the perfect spot for combining your elopement with a vacation!
