As noted, one of the most popular places for an Oregon Elopement is Mount Hood, one of the most prominent mountain peaks in North America. One of the main reasons for this is the stunning views and dramatic backdrop that this volcanic peak provides. The Mount Hood Bed & Breakfast offers the ideal setting for a romantic wedding ceremony thanks to its location in the upper Hood River valley with views of not only Mount Hood, but also Mount Adams and Mount Rainier.

Alternatively, the historic Timberline Lodge offers a unique location around 6000 feet above sea level on the south face of the mountain. The lodge was built in the 1930’s and has been awarded National Historic Landmark status. What could be more romantic for an elopement in Oregon then marrying midst the glistening snow with the option of enjoying skiing or hiking during your stay if you are so inclined – otherwise you could just snuggle up by the fire!

If you are not keen on the mountain, then the city of Portland is close by and offers a range of great options for those wishing an Oregon Elopement in Portland. You may wish to consider the Wedded Your Way Chapel which offers a great alternative to an impersonal courthouse. Ceremonies can be personalized and can be as informal or traditional as you desire. You can also choose to book a photographer or even a cake and cider toast.

When you chose an Oregon Elopement it does not necessarily mean that you are turning your back on the tradition! Some couples prefer to think of eloping as ‘streamlining’ their wedding! If you are looking for a traditional venue for your Oregon wedding ceremony then Baker Cabin’s Pioneer Church in Oregon City could be perfect! This historical woodland chapel is charming and comfortable. One of the easiest ways to arrange a wedding at this particular chapel is via Radiant Touch Weddings, a local officiant offering a range of traditional and non-traditional elopement ceremonies across Oregon and South West Washington starting at just $75.

There are also plenty of other intimate and interesting venues for your elopement in Oregon including the Stone Crest Cellar Bed & Breakfast in South Beach and to 110-year-old Heceta Head Lighthouse in Yachats. For full information on all of the elopement venues and services mentioned on our Oregon state listings.

Why book a Oregon Elopement?

So why elope to Oregon? One of the big attractions when it comes to Oregon is the fact that the marriage license for the state is valid for 60 days, this is twice as long as most states giving you additional flexibility. In addition, a Washington state marriage license can also be used in Oregon. There is a waiting period of 3 days, but some counties will waive this for an additional fee so it is worth asking. Aside from this flexibility, the State of Oregon offers beautiful scenery and will make your day memorable.
