One of the most exciting things about preparing for any kind of a trip is planning what you are going to pack! So, imagine if the trip that you are packing for is your wedding or elopement! That’s when things get even more exciting. However, it can also add a massive amount of pressure since the last thing you want for your big day is to realize that you have forgotten something important! With that in mind, we have put together this Ultimate Elopement Wedding Packing List!

It probably goes without saying that not everything on the list will apply to your particular wedding plans, but it should give you a good jumping off point to create a list of your own!

Packing For The Wedding

Some of the most important things on your packing list are going to be the things that you need for the actual wedding itself. This includes the following :

  • Wedding attire for you and your partner
  • Wedding shoes and other accessories (jewelry, veil, cuff-links etc)
  • The wedding rings
  • Your wedding vows
  • Any required license and other paperwork

As you can see the list is pretty basic. If you are eloping then you might have already decided to ditch the dress mess all together so in that case you just need to substitute the outfit you are going to wear on the big day. If you do decide to wear a wedding dress be sure to choose one that can travel well since no-one wants to be a wrinkled and disheveled looking bride!

Packing For The Journey

Regardless of how you choose to travel to your destination, here are some essential items to bring that will make your flight or car journey more comfortable so you will arrive at your venue as rested and refreshed as possible.

  • Snacks & gum
  • Bottled water
  • Ear plugs
  • Headphones and music player
  • Eye mask
  • Neck Pillow
  • Notepad & pen
  • Travel documents and ID (passport, driver’s license, visa, insurance papers, etc)
  • Travel itinerary and booking documents (we suggest a paper copy and an electronic copy)

Other Items For Your Packing List

If you are staying on for a couple of days in order to have a Honeymoon or “Minimoon” then also consider adding these essentials to your packing list.

  • Camera with chargers, batteries, memory cards and other accessories
  • Cell phone and charger
  • Minimal toiletries and makeup
  • Medications and vitamins
  • Enough underwear for the duration of the trip (we suggest a mix of practical and sexy – after all it IS your honeymoon)
  • Comfortable casual clothing
  • Nightwear
  • Evening clothes for dining out
  • Destination appropriate clothing (that means beachwear for those having a beach wedding, or hiking boots and sweaters for mountain elopements!)

Packing Tips For An Elopement Wedding

In addition to the packing lists previously mentioned above, we also have a couple of travel tips to help things go more smoothly for you on your important day. First, you will want to pack light! Ideally if you can get everything into carry on bags it will make it easier for you to keep an eye on it with less chance of your wedding attire getting lost! It is also a good idea to keep your jewelry and other valuables to a minimum. Lastly, if you have the time and the budget, you might want to consider shipping your wedding attire to your final destination.

Have we covered everything? What will you be packing for your elopement wedding?
