Planning a 2021 Wedding

Planning a 2021 Wedding

The wedding industry took a huge dive in 2020 thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, 2021 is already showing some signs of recovery, although the wedding industry certainly looks a little different than what most of us have been used to as smaller-scale weddings and elopements have become the norm. With many weddings canceled or postponed last year, it seems logical that 2021 will be busy. The latest predictions say that there will be around a 30% surge in the number of weddings in 2021. So what does that mean for you if you are planning a 2021 wedding?

Planning a 2021 Wedding

If you are planning a 2021 wedding, then it would be wise to start looking at venues and other vendors as soon as possible. Not only will there be all of the weddings initially planned for 2021, but many couples who have to rebook their delayed weddings are also clamoring for 2021 dates! It’s going to be a busy year for weddings and elopements. That means if you have a specific date in mind, or if you like a particularly popular venue you have to book as early as possible to secure them.

Small Weddings Are Less Impacted

The good news for those planning a 2021 wedding is that small weddings and elopements have not been impacted as much as larger ones. One of the biggest issues at present is the restrictions on the number of people allowed to gather at events.  If you are planning to elope or have a small wedding anyway, then this is not going to be a problem since your guest list is already small.

Another positive factor in planning a 2021 wedding on a smaller scale, is that you actually have more choices than ever when it comes to where you can exchange your vows. Hotels and larger venues that would have previously only have hosted large weddings are now inviting small weddings. This has been an opportunity to recoup some of the financial losses they have incurred during the pandemic. We have even seen new venues crop up which have never offered weddings in the past. This opens up a whole world of opportunities for couples looking for their ideal elopement spot.

Great Things Come in Small Packages

Big, traditional weddings were already on the decline over the past five years. The pandemic has pushed weddings even further towards smaller celebrations. This may have happened out of necessity, but many couples who have had to cancel a large wedding in favor of a small socially distanced one say that they have no regrets. Less is actually more when it comes to planning a 2021 wedding. Couples are actively seeking out intimate ceremonies that will help to create special memories.

Are you planning a 2021 Wedding? We would love to hear all about your plans.
