Planning a Destination Wedding the Easy Way
1 – Start Planning a Destination Wedding Early
When it comes to a destination wedding it’s a good idea to start planning as soon as possible. The more time you have to research the location, the better chance you have of finding some great deals. Traditionally, weddings are planned up to two years in advance, but you can still pull off a destination wedding in a couple of months. One thing to consider is the waiting times required in different countries. You also need to consider legal requirements. I have a summary of these requirements on the WhereToElope pages for various locations. You might also find my previous blog on where NOT to elope helpful as it highlights those places with long or complicated requirements.
2 – Look for an All-Inclusive Wedding Elopement Package
Planning a destination wedding can be made so much easier with an all-inclusive elopement package. Many elopement vendors can handle every aspect of the wedding. All you have to do is get your marriage license and turn up! This takes a great deal of the stress and time out of your plans. It can also be a great way to save money.
3 – The Wedding Dress Counts as Carry On Luggage
One of the biggest tips I can share for brides who want a destination wedding is to take the dress as carry on luggage. Many airlines offer an additional allowance for bridal attire and may even allow you to hang it in a garment bag in the captain’s closet to avoid wrinkles. I would recommend a lightweight dress in a fabric that travels well to minimize wrinkling.
These are just a handful of the tips I can offer on planning a destination wedding the easy way! If you want more tips, why not pick up a copy of BIG Weddings SUCK! today.
