Choosing a Safe Intimate Wedding When You Elope
There are few things more exciting in life than planning your wedding. After all, your love story is something to celebrate. Unfortunately, for many couples, COVID-19 has thrown a kink in the works for their dream wedding plans. Weddings are being pushed back, scaled-down, or postponed entirely. But, many of our featured vendors have gone out of their way to offer a safe and intimate solution for anyone who would like a safe intimate wedding or elopement during the COVID-19 recovery period, or indeed at any other time.
A Simple, Stress-Free Way to Elope
When our friends at the beautiful Cedar Crest Lodge saw so many couples having to deal with or completely change their wedding plans, often on short notice they wanted to do something to help. Knowing that they have a beautiful location that is naturally suited to social distancing, they are welcoming couples who need to book an elopement or small “micro” wedding. Cedar Crest Lodge recently gave a summary of their available wedding venue in a blog post which described the private, spacious outdoor setting for couples choosing to elope to Kansas .
Cedar Crest Lodge boasts more than 110 acres of picturesque grounds with an authentic country feel. With so much space available, social distancing at your ceremony is not a concern. Choose from the North Lawn with breathtaking views of the horizon, the West Patio, or the 100-year-old Pecan Grove. If it’s just the two of you then you could also decide on a fireside ceremony in the lodge itself.
Choose a Secluded Alternative for a Safe Intimate Wedding
The Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast in Brownwood, Texas has always been a popular option for our eloping couples thanks to their beautiful setting and affordable elopement packages. However, now more than ever it is the ideal solution for couples looking to rebook a canceled wedding and elope during the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery. The secluded location and private cottage accommodations mean they are well placed to have you socially distanced from others during your celebration and they are offering to work with any couples struggling to rearrange a wedding following disappointment from canceling their original plans.
No Guests Allowed? No Problem!
If you have guests that are now unable to attend your wedding due to health reasons or travel restrictions, then our friends over at Pine Manor, Illinois have a solution with their Social Distance Weddings. You can now obtain a Cook County wedding license entirely online with a video meeting, which will allow you to come along and have an intimate elopement at Pine Manor where you can invite guests to watch via Skype! Or – if you can’t get your license, you could have a commitment ceremony until you are able to get formally married at a later date!
Make it a Drive-Thru!
Alternatively, if you choose to elope to Ontario, Elope Niagara is offering a shortened Drive-Thru ceremony that is ideal for the current situation! This option allows for 1 car – or 2 motorcycles – to take advantage of the only drive-thru wedding chapel in Niagara! Additional packages are available if you want a little more including short, intimate ceremonies either by the fireside or at the waterfall.
These are just a few of the options some of our elopement vendors have come up with to make your safe intimate wedding or elopement possible even in these trying times. If you have seen a venue you like on or website that we haven’t mentioned here it is well worth giving them a call to ask what kind of solutions they have come up with to accommodate “corona brides”.
