Unusual Places to Elope
We have heard of a lot of unusual places to Elope, but one cute story we recently came across really raises the bar! Southwest Airlines shared a story about a couple who planned on a Las Vegas elopement, but ended up getting married on their flight instead!
The Inflight Wedding Ceremony!
Last year, an Ohio couple had booked a flight to Las Vegas with the intent of marrying at a wedding chapel. However, their connecting flight from Dallas to Las Vegas was canceled after several delays. A fellow passenger – an ordained officiant – overheard their concerns about missing the chapel booking and offered to perform the ceremony! The trio purchased seats on an alternative flight and took an uber across the city to a different airport.
The couple and their new minister boarded the Southwest Airlines flight dressed in their wedding attire. On hearing the story the pilot. joked with them that they should get married on the plane. That’s exactly what the couple decided to do! The flight crew used some toilet paper to make streamers. A notebook was passed around the passengers to be a makeshift guest book, and a professional photographer on board grabbed her camera to take some photos! It’s certainly a flight nobody on board will forget in a hurry! See their wedding photos and more in this CNN.com article.
