Wedding Budget Concerns Solved by Eloping

Wedding Budget Concerns Solved by Eloping

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit back in 2020, it rocked the entire wedding industry! Travel restrictions, stay-at-home orders, and social distancing were just some of the challenges that engaged couples faced. Thousands of weddings were canceled or delayed as a result. However, many couples didn’t want to wait out the pandemic to tie the knot and chose to elope instead! While this was a choice most made out of necessity, we have heard from many couples who realized that a more intimate wedding may have been what they really wanted all along. Now that most restrictions have been lifted and weddings are ‘back’, many couples are sticking with the idea of a small wedding or elopement instead of a traditional big wedding. There are many reasons for this shift, but one of the main ones is wedding budget concerns.

Wedding Budget Concerns

One of the big takeaways from the pandemic is that many of us are only a paycheck away from real financial struggles. This made many people stop and think about how they spend their money and a growing number of couples feel that they cannot justify tens of thousands of dollars to get married! With an all-inclusive elopement package coming in at less than 10% of the cost of a traditional wedding making the choice to elope can eliminate any wedding budget concerns that you might have! According to a recent study, 6 out of 10 engaged couples are very open to the idea of scaling their wedding back to something more resembling an elopement!

Where to Save Money

When asked what wedding expenses they would be most willing to cut from their budget, couples said they would save money by eliminating flowers, music, videography, food and alcohol! These items if removed completely could reduce the wedding cost by an average of around $20,000! However, the great thing about choosing elopement is that you wouldn’t have to eliminate all of these items from your wedding plans! The smaller your wedding, the less expensive it generally is allowing you to splurge a little on a few luxury touches!

Are you choosing to elope, or have a small wedding in order to address your wedding budget concerns? We’d love to hear about those plans.
