Wyoming Best Places To Elope

If there is one thing that Wyoming is truly famous for it is, without a doubt, Yellowstone National Park – home of the world famous ‘Old Faithful‘ geyser. Now if the name ‘Old Faithful‘ isn’t a good omen for a long and happy marriage then we don’t know what is! Why not go ahead and elope to Wyoming? You can even get married right in Yellowstone Park if you like!

Elope to Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

There are plenty of great places to choose from when you elope to Wyoming, especially if you are a nature lover. Wyoming features mountain ranges, forests, open plains and even a couple of volcanoes.

Speaking of volcanoes, let’s start with looking at eloping to Yellowstone National Park. While the Yellowstone Caldera an active volcano there is no evidence that it will be erupting any time soon and spoiling your wedding, so when you elope to Wyoming why not head to Yellowstone National Park for a truly dramatic elopement ceremony. Weddings can be held in various sites around the park as long as you apply for a special use permit. The most popular spots are at Old Faithful, Lake Butte Overlook and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone River. A Wyoming marriage license is preferred, but in some areas of the park a Montana license is also valid, so be sure to check out exactly where that applies if you are unsure.

Tucked away within Yellowstone National Park is the hidden gem that is Mammoth Chapel, a stunning sandstone chapel built in 1913 with stone from the quarry within Yellowstone Park. The special use permit is not required for ceremonies being conducted at Mammoth Chapel but a minimum of two weeks notice is required – so no spur of the moment elopements here! In addition, due to the remote location this venue may not be suitable in heavy winter as the roads within this area of the park can be treacherous in snow.
