The Only 6 Wedding Shots Your Elopement Photographer Needs to Get
Regardless of how you choose to get married, one thing is certain – it is going to be a very special day in your life and it is one that you will want to cherish forever. One of the best ways to do this is with some wedding photographs. However, hiring an elopement photographer can be expensive especially if you are choosing to elope and you may feel that it is an expense that you cannot really afford. The good news is that there are ways to keep your costs down when it comes to wedding photography. The easiest way to keep costs to a minimum is to have a short list of the photographs that you must have – there are really only 6 key shots that every couple needs! This means that you can hire a photographer for a short session that will cost less than having them around for the entire day. In fact – many elopement packages now include an hour of photography services which is plenty of time to put together those six important shots. So, what are these all-important photographs? Let’s take a look …
1 – His First Look
One of the most special moments of any wedding ceremony is that moment when the groom gets his first look at his bride! Most people have their attention on the bride as she makes her entrance, but if they steal a quick glance at the groom they will see a look of absolute adoration and joy as he sees his love approach.
2 – The Bride’s Entrance
Most little girls have been dreaming of walking down the aisle on their wedding day from a very early age, so of course you will want to capture this moment on camera! Even if you have chosen to elope, there is no reason why you cannot make some kind of entrance into your ceremony.
3 – The First Kiss
Perhaps one of the most special moments of a wedding ceremony is that first kiss after the Officiant pronounces that the couple are legally husband and wife. It also makes one of the most beautiful wedding photographs to remember your special day.
4 – Leaving As Husband & Wife
Since you already have the groom and the bride in single shots before exchanging vows, it makes perfect sense to take a photo of the happy couple walking down the aisle as man and wife.
5 – The Bridal Party
It is impossible not to take a photograph of the wedding party including the Officiant, plus any groomsmen and bridesmaids (or witnesses) and of course the parents or children if they are in attendance. A growing number of elopements are also beginning to include parents, children or close friends and even pets in their photos, so this is still a relevant image for couples choosing to elope.
6 – The First Dance / Toast
The final shot that is a must-have for wedding photographs is the first dance. It is another of those staple moments at most weddings. For elopements, there may not be a first dance, but it is likely that there will be a celebratory toast which is also a special moment to capture.
