Is a Wedding Around the Corner? Let’s Elope!

So, you’ve just gotten engaged? Congratulations! Now comes the hard part – planning the wedding! They say that weddings are one of the most stressful experiences that we have to deal with in our lives.  When you look at all the things you need to think about it is not difficult to see why. Not only do you have to choose a venue and hire an Officiant, but you also have to think about wedding attire, catering, flowers, bridesmaids, cakes, photography, guest lists, and what seems like hundreds of other little details! It is incredibly stressful, not to mention expensive, but it doesn’t have to be! A growing number of newly engaged couples are choosing to elope in order to avoid the stress and expense of planning a traditional wedding.

One of the most popular reasons why couples elope is in order to save money. Statistics show that a traditional wedding now costs an average of $35,000! That is a huge sum of money to lay out on a wedding. In comparison, an all-inclusive elopement package costs roughly $2,500 saving you more than 90% of the cost of a traditional wedding. Just think of the other things that you could be using that money for. Perhaps you could put it towards buying a house together, paying off your student loans, or maybe even start a college fund for your children?

Of course, money is not the only reason that couples choose to elope. Many couples have decided ‘let’s elope’  as a way to avoid the amount of stress that comes with planning a big wedding. Not only is there the pressure to arrange the entire event, but you will also encounter family politics and other stress triggers along the way. If you choose to elope instead you could simply book your choice of elopement package and head off with your partner to get married in an intimate ceremony for just the two of you.

Another factor to consider is time. Planning a traditional wedding can take as long as 18 months depending on your venue and the size of your guest list.  But when you elope you could potentially plan your wedding and get married all in the space of just a few days. Some states have no waiting period and can even offer same-day weddings! This is perfect if you want to get married as quickly as possible, perhaps if one of you is about to be deployed, or you are expecting a baby and want to get married before your child is born. There are many reasons why you might want to get the ball rolling as soon as possible and eloping could be the answer!
